Project Manager - Applications Development CHICAGO NORTHERN SUBURB
Job Description

OVERVIEW:
Manages projects for a set or area of business applications systems to ensure that they meet the immediate requirements of the business while satisfying the
business and technology standards. Works with users, other technical personnel, consultants and vendors in the timely completion of projects and in support of
the existing applications. Develops the skills and capabilities of the application development and support personnel assigned to his/her projects and support
responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Comprehensive knowledge of the software packages and software development technologies such as development environments, object oriented programming
and related development and testing tools, languages and techniques. Particularly relevant are OS/400, RPG, JAVA, DB2/400, Windows2000 Server, SQL Server,
IIS, Websphere Portal, Websphere Commerce, Notes/Domino, Cognos PowerPlay and DecisionStream. Cognos DecisionStream, Cognos ReportNet, Visual LANSA and
LANSA for the Web.

Experience managing the development and support activities for a set of application systems for a medium to large sized company, preferably in a
multi-plant manufacturing environment.

Extensive experience managing personnel and making key decisions such as recruiting, hiring, terminations, promotions.

For major projects, extensive experience in developing project definitions and plans, including business requirements, technical requirements,
costs and benefits analysis, and implementation plans and successful execution of the implementation plans developed.

Strong verbal and written communications skills along with strong organization skills and a strong attention to details. Experience developing the
business case for IT infrastructure initiatives.

An advanced degree in the management of information technology is preferred. CPA, MBA, Project Management certification and APICS certification desirable.

Job Description:
Our client is seeking software developers with migration experience who can translate and implement legacy requirements into web-based applications. The right candidate must have good communications skills and work directly with line-of-business managers, project leaders, database designers in a dynamic mission critical environment.
Using software industry best practices, the candidate must be very knowledgeable of the software development life-cycle and be able to develop, test and roll-out web-based applications from legacy systems to high-performing, server-based platforms.
Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years experience with web-based application development.

2+ years hands-on experience with .NET Framework.

Experience with web development and database programming using ASP, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#, SQL, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, COM, and DHTML/HTML/CSS.

Working knowledge with Microsoft Solutions Framework.

Good written and verbal communications skills.

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.

Integration/migration experience with SAP is highly desirable

Experience with BizTalk Server desirable

Technical Lead Applications Development

Job description:
This hands-on position will be responsible for leading application development projects that span across our clients financial/trading/analytic business unit. The right candidate will possess solid, proven project management skills as it relates to application development and an in-depth knowledge of the technologies and methodologies involved. The applications will range across the entire breadth of the organization, including both transaction processing and analytic systems. The position reports to the Chief Information Officer located in Chicago.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have the following experience:
- 4+ years Visual Studio .NET
- 4+ years .NET Framework
- 6+ years relational database
- 3+ years implementing software solutions for trading environments
- 3+ years large-scale, multi-user systems development
- 4+ years 3-tier client server system design
- 4+ years object oriented analysis and design
Note: Experience using Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, SQL Server, SharePoint) strongly preferred.
Qualified candidates will have the following additional skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of systems delivery.
